On behalf of Byggimpuls, Nordic Steel has designed and produced suspension brackets for concrete elements in the quay front at the new MUNCH. Since the building is located right on the seafront in Bjørvika, the brackets had to withstand strict tolerance and corrosion requirements and are therefore produced in acid-resistant steel.

- We are very happy for the trust given to us to be part of a fantastic museum building that is also part of Oslo's urban development project. The building delivers on strict environmental requirements, which fits well with us as a certified and responsible manufacturer, says Børre Lobekk, CEO of Nordic Steel Group.

Suspension systems and brackets for different types of buildings, constructions and installations are a type of production that Nordic Steel makes to special dimesnions and sizes for all types of customers. Unique art buildings such as both the New National Museum and the New MUNCH involve production from Nordic Steel.

Prestigious project across 13 floors

The foundation stone for Nye MUNCH was laid in 2016. The museum is one of the biggest investments in cultural buildings in Oslo in our time.

New MUNCH is filled with art and culture across 13 floors. A fantastic Munch collection of almost 28,000 works of art has now found its place in the building. The building has been a prestigious project for Oslo Municipality, built with low-carbon concrete and recycled steel, and it has a number of measures that reduce the climate footprint. The construction and load-bearing structures of the building has a lifespan of 200 years.
