Simduct series

Do you choose approved ventilation ducts? At Nordic Steel, you get Simduct class F which is approved in fire class A-0.

Simduct is Nordic Steel's product series of acid-resistant ventilation ducts in top quality, produced at Jæren, by Norway's leading manufacturer of HVAC ducts and equipment. Simduct class F is approved in fire class A-0 by both DNV GL and ABS (American Bureau of Shipping).

- Simduct is found everywhere on offshore installations. The Class F ducts were especially developed for floating rigs due to their low weight and have gradually been chosen as the duct class on most new offshore buildings to replace Class A. Installation time and costs are also reduced with class F ducts, explains Thor Erik Hebnes, head of the HVAC department at Nordic Steel.

In the Simduct series you also get class C and B ducts. Class C is similar to class F, but is delivered to areas that do not have specific fire requirements. Both B and C are suitable for corrosive areas on land, for example for land-based fish farming, maritime and process industries.

Simduct series

There are many good reasons to choose Simduct. Here are some of them:

  • Approved in fire class A-0 (class F)
  • As much as 60 percent lower weight than class A ducts, as the thickness of the steel is reduced from 3 mm (class A) to 0.8-1.5 mm (class F)
  • Lower installation costs
  • Acid-resistant design provides long life
  • Can be specially adapted in production
