- Nordic Steel took the task immediately and came to our factory. We received professional drawings, advice and tips along the way and solutions that were especially adapted to our use, says Lars Tor "Lasse" Silnes, group manager for purse seine in Mørenot Fishery.
Mørenot needed equipment for independent inspectors to come to the premises to carry out annual recertification of the overhead cranes, as well as safer access for their own employees for general maintenance. In the factory premises in Søvika, new net assembly and repair of ring nets takes place.

- For Mørenot, it is important that the equipment is safe, secure and has easy access for an inspector who will carry out inspections at great heights, explains Ola André Synes, sales manager for Nordic Steel in Ålesund.
In addition to safety, it is important that the materials are corrosion-resistant due to the environment they are in. Weight has also been a key element. The platforms with railings and ladders are made of seawater-resistant aluminum and the swivel baskets are made of galvanized steel.
When Mørenot came in contact with Nordic Steel, they solved several needs. Nordic Steel were able to supply equipment for daily production, exactly according to Mørenot's needs. Hatches in the floor, made of stainless steel, had to withstand high weight, among other things.
- The hatches in the floor had to withstand the weight of a truck. It was thus a great benefit that Nordic Steel were able to deliver calculations showing that the hatch had the correct dimensions. The hatches are essential in the daily operations, this is where the raw material warehouse with nets and ropes are located, Synes explains.

Nordic Steel is close to the maritime industry with its own office in Ålesund. All production takes place in Norway, at Nordic Steel's head office in Jæren.
