"For tunnels, we produce suspension systems for signs, fans and technical installations. We have delivered this to the major tunnel projects Ryfast and Eiganestunnelen in Rogaland, and to other tunnels throughout Norway. We supply access-equipment, such as stairs and repos, which we have delivered to the cable shafts for the Sotrasambandet in Vestland county, says Bjørn Erik Ualand.
Ualand has many examples of projects Nordic steel has participated in. The field is incredibly wide. Tunnels and roads are already mentioned. Furthermore, equipment such as height obstacles,bike racks,bicycle sheds, city stands,terror protection, protection against climbing and vandalism on masts, bridge railings, art – in addition to outdoor furniture and planter boxes for various types of parks and urban areas. Nordic Steel also produces the brand Simprofile,which is unique corrugated steel pipes (spiro tubes), often used in the concrete industry.
"What is common for everything delivered by Nordic Steel, including in the field of transport, is that we are able to manufacture anything our customers demands and desires. We customize the products exactly the way our customers want it. They are therefore able to participate in the entire design process, from idea to finished product. For example, bike racks can be customized by name, size, placement and functions. We made the city stands in Stavanger according to the municipality's needs and wishes. Right now we are in the final stages of indoor stands for a shopping centre in Eastern Norway," explains Ualand.
Nordic Steel has had its own infrastructure department since the autumn of 2018. The potential in the field is enormous and is constantly evolving.
