- We are very pleased with the protection of masts, signs and signalling portals that Nordic Steel has provided. These are solid cases that protect against both vandalism and climbing. In addition, we can turn signs on them, which saves us from setting up our own mast," says Ronny Sæterlid of the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.
In the Ryfast project in Rogaland, special protection has been installed at masts and toll stations to prevent climbing and vandalism.
Nordic Steel specially adapts protective equipment to different customers, according to different needs. An important point is access to the masts at a later point in time.
- It should be good economy to use Nordic Steel. We have produced a solid solution that makes access possible at a later point in time. When we have all production facilities in Norway, we can be close to the projects and adapt products in dialogue with the customer," says Bjørn Erik Ualand, Head of the Infrastructure Department at Nordic Steel.
Nordic Steel's protection systems against vandalism and climbing are designed with a plinth that goes down over and protects both the foundation and the pulling tube. This allows the foundation to easily be adjusted with additional pipes on the outside of the foundation or new pipes can be added at a later point in time.
Protection against vandalism and climbing is important to retain a safe local area and to prevent people from injuring themselves. The Norwegian Public Roads Administration says that the equipment is also positive also in terms of noise.
-We have noted that the protection delivered by Nordic Steel is more solid, it is not so thin and therefore does not vibrate in the wind. This causes less noise to neighbours, which is very positive," says Ronny Sæterlid of the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.
