- "We are very pleased to take part in such an important project in Norway, together with Novenco. Nordic Steel has the right expertise and equipment for this type of assignment, and we are also contributing with Norwegian, local production to the Johan Castberg development," says Thor Erik Hebnes, Head of HVAC at Nordic Steel.
Nordic Steel has manufactured two Air Handling Units (AHU) for Novenco for Johan Castberg. Novenco has extensive experience in developing HVAC-R solutions for the marine and offshore industry. Nordic Steel is involved as a manufacturer.
- "The collaboration with Novenco is close and good. They have designed the units, and we have manufactured and assembled them. Now we're looking forward to more good projects together," says Hebnes.
The ventilation units act as the main control center in an air conditioning system. They are manufactured in acid-proof steel, a type of stainless steel that is highly resistant to corrosive environments, such as in maritime environments or the oil and gas industry.
The ventilation units will serve a local equipment room and will be located outdoors in one of the most exposed areas of the vessel. To withstand harsh Arctic weather conditions, the units are a fully welded weatherproof construction. They have tailored technical details due to the risk of icing.
- Everything we make at Nordic Steel is tailored to the customer's needs every time. That's why it's so much fun to produce it too," says Thor Erik Hebnes.
Nordic Steel has all the certifications to supply equipment needed by the oil and gas industry. All production is delivered with full documentation. Because production takes place in Norway, customers can also be close by.
- We have also carried out Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) at Nordic Steel in collaboration with both Nordic Steel and the end customer. It is a great advantage that we can work closely together to deliver the best products in the end," explains Georgios Gournaras, Technical Manager at Novenco.
