Light poles in Njåskogen

The parking lot of one of the finest hiking forests in Jæren has been upgraded. Here are 25 light poles that look like trees - and they are manufactured by Nordic Steel.

The lighting columns are manufactured in stainless steel and then powder coated.

- "We designed and developed the lighting columns inspired by the sketches of the architectural firm Helen & Hard," says Bjørn Erik Ualand, Head of Transportation at Nordic Steel.

On top of the trees, high-quality lights from Norwegian lighting supplier Q-Light AS have been installed.

Popular hiking area

The new parking lot at Njåskogen in Time municipality opened in early July. The forest is almost 150 years old and is a popular hiking area in Jæren.

- "We're delighted to be involved in such a great project for Njåskogen and think the lighting columns are a good match for the forest. Now we hope that it will be even more attractive for people to park here to go hiking," says Bjørn Erik Ualand.

During the opening ceremony, Frode Hagerup, project manager for Nye Njåskogen, pointed out how beautiful it has become with lights in the parking lot.

- I recommend driving here at night, because it looks absolutely stunning.

A new building with a toilet and kiosk, benches and covered bicycle parking has also been added to the parking lot. Byggmester P. Undheim has been commissioned by Jæren Skoglag.
