Photo and AI technology checks the car for damage in seconds. The invention comes from the technology company Wenn and is designed and manufactured by Nordic Steel.
The system is perfect for airport car rental companies, among others. First up was Gardermoen in Oslo, now European airports are following suit.
- We're talking about an adventurous volume to be produced and shipped out to Europe. This is possible with the help of Nordic Steel," says Rolf Seloter, founder of Wenn.
A huge number of rental cars go in and out of airports in Europe every day. The cars pass through the system which automatically detects any scratches, damages and dents. This allows for greater transparency in claims handling and saves a lot of time.
Nordic Steel has tailored a system that can be used in multiple locations. Airports are mentioned. NAF stations, car dealerships and workshops are others that could benefit from it. The system is modular, takes up little space and is highly flexible.
The modules are manufactured in aluminum, using precise laser cutting and bending, before surface treatment and assembly.
- We have created the solution together with Wenn. All production takes place at our premises in Bryne and we also assemble the system in-house," explains William T. Boomer of Nordic Steel.
Nordic Steel's neighboring company, Robotic Innovation, installs and embeds both a computer and a camera in the system.
- "An excellent example of how we, together with Nordic Steel, have created a short-haul and local product that reaches the whole of Europe. This is just the beginning," concludes Rolf Seloter of Wenn.
