- "We have delivered the complete roof structure for the building, including the steel structure, roof panels and roofing," says project manager Pål Jacobsen.
The delivery includes:
Steel was mainly used for the roof structure, but steel was also installed to separate the production hall internally. In addition, a sandwich wall and crane track for the overhead crane have been installed.
It is a great advantage that Nordic Steel is responsible for the entire roof structure, as here on the Jæren Overflatebehandling building. If challenges arise with the structure that affect the roof covering, it is easier to detect them when the same contractor is responsible. Pål Jacobsen explains why:
- On the building for Jæren Overflatebehandling, there was a challenging interface between steel girders, roof plates, hole covers and thatching due to differences in height. When we designed the roofing, we only had the option of dealing with drawings and thus had to use theoretical measurements. When the steel girders and perforated decks were installed, we saw that the theory did not quite agree with practice. We were then in a situation where we could take measures before the roofing started and thus solve this without problems. I am almost certain that this would not have been discovered until the roofer was on the roof with his insulation, and by then it would have been too late.
Since Nordic Steel's professionals discovered the height difference early on, the customer avoided extra design meetings, saving both time and money. The customer in this case is Masiv AS, which had overall responsibility for building a new factory for Jæren Overflatebehandling.
- "It's great to work with Masiv. I hope and believe that they - and Jæren Overflatebehandling - will be satisfied with our deliveries," concludes Pål Jacobsen.
Masiv's project manager reports an impeccable collaboration with Nordic Steel.
- We are extremely satisfied with the work that has been done both in the design phase and execution, says project manager Gøran Håland at Masiv AS.
Jæren Overflatebehandling's new building is a combined factory and office building. It was completed in the summer of 2021, at the address Langmyra 7 in the Håland industrial area in Bryne.
