- "We are pleased to have installed Norway's most beautiful outdoor skating arena, with a roof superstructure and sandwich facades. The ice rink was handed over to Båstad sports club two weeks ahead of schedule," says Aleksander Lundeland, project manager at Nordic Steel.
The artificial ice rink is called Trøgstad Sparebank Is-Arena and is located in Indre Østfold municipality in Viken. It is a full-grown ice rink with a steel structure, roof and facade. In total, it has been delivered:
The new arena gives Båstad sports club more stable training conditions, a longer season, simpler operation and the opportunity for more activities throughout the year. Several races will be held at the arena in the future, and in February there will be a national championship at Trøgstad Sparebank Is-Arena. The ice rink has good lighting and there are also facilities for TV broadcasts.
Project manager Aleksander Lundeland says that Nordic Steel worked actively to find cost-saving solutions for the sports team. They also worked hard to ensure that the facility was ready for the first night of frost.
- "The work has progressed steadily until the handover date. Now we're looking forward to seeing the athletes and the local community start using the facility," says Aleksander Lundeland.
- "We have had a very good and constructive collaboration with Nordic Steel and their subcontractors throughout the construction process. I would especially like to pay tribute to project manager Aleksander Lundeland for good control of progress and solutions throughout the construction period," says project manager Kai Fjeld of Båstad IL Skøyter.
