- We have a unique expertise in the production of ventilation ducts. For many years we have been producing equipment, parts and pipes for large offshore installations and onshore facilities. Now more and more of our projects are within renewable energy, says Thor Erik Hebnes, head of Nordic Steel's HVAC department.
Nordic Steel is based in Bryne and produces channels in all classes. All necessary certifications are in place. Ventilation ducts and equipment are manufactured in accordance with EN 1506, NS-EN ISO 15138 and DW 143.
- Important reasons to choose Nordic Steel are, in addition to expertise, that we have top production equipment and the latest in laser cutting, buckling and welding. We also have our very own brand, Simduct , which is worth looking into, Hebnes points out.
Nordic Steel owns the entire product range of the Simduct brand. This is a type of channels in top quality that in many cases replaces traditional class A channels.
Simduct is produced in acid-proof steel AISI 316L.
Benefits of Simduct:
Simduct is found everywhere in the offshore market, but is also relevant in many more places.
- Simduct is very relevant for use in corrosive environments, both offshore, but also in the slaughterhouse, aqua, fishing and maritime industries. Simduct was in fact specially developed for floating rigs. Due to their low weight, they are both easy to install and transport. It can be very useful for many, Hebnes states.
Class A ventilation ducts are still the most used ducts. At Nordic Steel, channels in this class are in production daily. Channels in class B, C, E and F are also supplied, in addition to special production.
The factory at Jæren produces channels for all types of deliveries. Commercial buildings, new buildings, conversions, special containers and units are other recipients of canals.
Installation of ducts can also be part of the delivery on large projects if the customer so wishes, both for offshore and onshore projects.
Nordic Steel's HVAC department consists of professionals with very broad and long experience. Leader Thor Erik Hebnes has worked with the production of channels and equipment since 1997. He has also been involved in the production development of the Simduct brand.
In the autumn of 2020, Nordic Steel acquired the production department of GMC HVAC, and since then all employees in production, including machinery and equipment, have been part of Nordic Steel. Together with its own HVAC engineers, Nordic Steel's HVAC department has expertise at the very top.
- Quality, delivery time and price are the most important feedback we receive from our customers. When customers say that we deliver very good quality, it is the best feedback we can get, says Hebnes.
