It is in good spirits to build stone by stone. A new building takes place in håland industrial area at Bryne.
It will stand as a symbol of Nordic Steel's commitment to the future. It is an investment in the people who work here and Jæren as a region.
The building is constructed with employees and customers in focus. We are building to facilitate a workplace where employees will thrive and have opportunities for development. For many years Nordic Steel has worked to reduce costs and streamline production. The new building is adapted to the need for Nordic Steel to continued high quality at an affordable price.
The main focus of the planning was to streamline time-consuming processes as much as possible. Through mapping of work processes, we were able to find out which operations could be improved. We then tailored the layout and placement of machines accordingly. This methodology was used in almost every single step of the planning.
We have designed the building so that the production can be easily adapted to the production required by each individual customer. This provides great customization opportunities that benefit the customer by having lower cost drivers. According to the plan, production will have a high uptime through the relocation process. Both the welding department, the crackers and the laser cutter should have an uptime that is as high as possible. "We will keep the production level at as normal level as possible throughout the process, which we do by moving component by component, department by department as not to stop production and to maintain our high delivery precision," says General Manager Børre Lobekk.
