Time mayor Andreas Vollsund (H) held the official opening at Eivindsholtjørn, which in Jærsk is simply known as Tjødnå, today, April 13.
- 'Lighting around Tjødnå has been one of my pet causes. It's a hiking area in the middle of Bryne, and it's great for public health. I am also impressed by the beautiful lights. The result has been fantastic and I am proud that we have used local businesses," said the mayor.
Nordic Steel is also proud to be part of such a great project for the whole of Bryne.
- "It is incredibly nice to contribute to this boost for the entire hiking area. The lighting makes Tjødnå accessible to everyone in a much better way than before, even after it has become dark outside, says Bjørn Erik Ualand, head of the transportation department at Nordic Steel.
The municipality probably couldn't get a more local product than the light bollards from Nordic Steel. They are manufactured just one kilometer away from the hiking trail.
The bollards were developed in collaboration between Nordic Steel and Q-Light, a Norwegian full-service lighting supplier. They are made of stainless steel (304) and powder-coated in black to match the color of the lamp posts on parts of the trail.
- Working with Nordic Steel on this project has been very rewarding. Knowledge and resources have been shared in a good way, and things have had a good flow throughout the design period. We look forward to a good cooperation on future projects, says Sven Olav Sjeggestad in Q-Light.
Tjødnå has become an even more attractive hiking area with the lights, but the picnic areas have also been given a boost. Time Municipality and Nordic Steel have worked together to upgrade the two bathing areas around the lake.
Nordic Steel has produced and donated two double benches with tables that are placed at the bathing areas.
- This has been a boost for the whole of Bryne. Finally there is light around this pearl, said a satisfied mayor Andreas Vollsund.
