- "We are very pleased to take over such an established and serious company as Acoustics, which has delivered quality for decades. For our customers, this means that they will have access to all types of HVAC products from us. We will be a complete supplier for them," says CEO Børre Lobekk of Nordic Steel.
Acoustics AS was established in 1997 by Anders Busvold and has been based in Larvik in recent years. The company has particular expertise in calculating noise in ventilation systems. Products such as exhaust hoods, sound attenuators, acoustic louvers, ducts and dampers are typical deliveries and can be supplied with complete sound documentation.
- I wanted to pass on my knowledge, experience and a well-established brand to a serious company when I retire. Through conversations and visits to Nordic Steel, I have come to know a professional company with a genuine interest in its products. I am confident that Acoustics is in good hands and that customers will be looked after in the best possible way," says Anders Busvold, General Manager of Acoustics.
Nordic Steel aquire the products, product names, drawings, technical data and calculation bases for all Acoustics' products.
- "We can hardly wait to start delivering even more HVAC products. For many of our customers, it will be short-distance production from us at Bryne, and they can gather larger parts of their deliveries with us," says Thor Erik Hebnes, head of the HVAC department at Nordic Steel.
Nordic Steel is a leading quality manufacturer of ventilation ducts and equipment for all industries. The new products complement the HVAC expertise of Nordic Steel.
- "Acoustics provides us with all the documentation and figures we need to continue to deliver the quality products they are known for. We have a large apparatus, from the technical department, HVAC department, production departments and documentation control, which together will deliver what the customers need," Hebnes explains.

No employees or premises come with the acquisition of Acoustics. There has been one employee in the company, who is now retiring. Acoustics previously had a factory in Poland, which was sold in 2016.
- We are humbled and proud that Anders' life's work will now become part of Nordic Steel. He has a unique expertise that we are fortunate to be able to learn from in the future. We promise that Acoustics will have a good home with us at Nordic Steel," says Børre Lobekk.
