"We are very pleased that the GMC HVAC production unit is now becoming a part of us. GMC HVAC is a recognized company within its field," says Børre Lobekk, CEO of Nordic Steel Group.
Over time, Nordic Steel has built up a strong expertise in production for HVAC. The company is growing, and with great knowledge, the right professionals and modern production facilities, everything is set for continued growth.
"It is absolutely right for us to join forces with Nordic Steel. By entering this partnership, we are able to cultivate our own company. We have thus found the correct strategic partner for GMC HVAC. I experience Nordic Steel as an efficient and professional supplier, with skilled and accommodating employees, modern facilities and future-oriented working methods," says Egil Sunde CEO of GMC HVAC.
GMC HVAC has until recently produced acid-resistant ducts, air inlets, fans and air conditioning for installations offshore and onshore, among others. Most of the players on the Norwegian continental shelf have used products from GMC HVAC. From now on, Nordic Steel will be the producer of the series, both to GMC HVAC and to the rest of the market.
The Simduct brand is a product line of top quality acid-resistant ducts, developed by Simex AS in 1992, and later taken over by GMC HVAC. Nordic Steel owns the entire Simduct range, including the technology, approvals and machinery necessary to produce the product portfolio.
Simprofile are unique corrugated steel pipes, which will also be produced by Nordic Steel. The corrugated steel pipes are highly flexible and have a strength that allows them to withstand large external forces. The pipes are often used in the construction and concrete industries.
Nordic Steel ensures that the Simduct and Simprofile brands are still produced in Rogaland and thus preserves Norwegian production and local value creation. Highly competent employees from GMC HVAC and Nordic Steel will now work together to continue to deliver the best products.
"HVAC is an important industry for us to be a part of, and it is a strategically correct move for us to take over the production of GMC HVAC. We want to participate in large, important projects on offshore wind and on installations both internationally and on the Norwegian shelf," says Børre Lobekk.
GMC HVAC is located in Dusavik in Randaberg, but the production unit is now being moved to Nordic Steel's premises at Bryne. The machine park, expertise, approvals and products will be included for further growth at Nordic Steel.
